Next to Matsugaski Park, this museum is the former residence of Count Uesugi Shigenori, the 14th in the line of the Uesugi Clan. The copper-plated cypress buildings and garden modeled after the one at the Hama Detached Palace in Tokyo are definitions for refinement. Along with a museum with materials and cultural assets telling the story of Yonezawa's history, there's also a model of the city.
